Preparing for Your Mobile Grooming Service

1. Before the Groomer Arrives

Clear a Workspace: Designate a well-lit and ventilated area, preferably indoors, where the groomer can set up their equipment.
Ensure there's enough space to move around comfortably and a flat surface for grooming tools. If outdoors, choose a shaded spot with a stable surface.

Gather Supplies: Have your pet's leash, collar or harness readily available.
If your pet has specific shampoos, conditioners, or other grooming products they prefer or need, have them on hand. Have treats and/or toys to help keep your pet calm and engaged during the grooming process.
Exercise Your Pet: Take your dog for a walk or engage in some playtime before the groomer arrives. A tired pet is more likely to be cooperative and less anxious.

Potty Break: Give your dog the opportunity to relieve themselves before the grooming session. This can help avoid accidents during the grooming process.
Inform your Groomer: Communicate any specific needs or concerns you have about your pet's grooming, temperament, or health conditions. Let them know about any sensitivities, allergies, or anxieties your pet may have. If your pet has any matted fur or tangles, point them out to the groomer.

Be Available: Ideally, stay present during the grooming session, or at least be readily available nearby in case the groomer needs to consult you.

2. During the Grooming Session

Observe and Communicate: If possible, observe the grooming process from a distance. This can help you learn about your pet's reactions and communicate any concerns to the groomer.

Remain Calm: Your pet can sense your emotions. Try to remain calm and relaxed to help your pet stay calm too.

Provide Reassurance: If your pet seems anxious, offer gentle words of encouragement and reassurance.

3. After the Grooming Session

Give Praise and Rewards: Shower your pet with praise and affection to reinforce a positive association with the grooming experience. Offer them a treat or engage in some playtime to celebrate their fresh look and good behavior.

Inspect the Grooming: Carefully examine your pet's coat, nails, ears, and teeth to ensure they are clean and well-groomed. If you notice any concerns, contact the groomer promptly.

Provide Feedback: Share your feedback with the groomer about the service and your pet's experience. This helps them understand your expectations and improve their services.
